I just love it, especially when it is windy and the surf is up.
I met Carmel for another lovely breakfast. She knows all the best places to go.They all have a little bit of character and very healthy food. I just had to take a photo of her at this food store when I saw what meats were on sale there.
I then returned to Sydney for a few more days, it is such a great City and there is so much to do. I met up with Annabel and a couple of her friends to go to the open air cinema in Centennial Park.
On the way to meet up with them I got talking to a girl in the wine shop who happened to work for the sponsors of the event. She gave me tickets for the VIP bean bags, which pleased everyone. And Annabel's Friend Tim had packed a great picnic with Champagne. It was a perfect setting to see the film Juno.
I have aso been to see an amazing exhibition on Photo Journalism, at the Museum of Sydney. It featured Australian photographers. I then went to the gallery of Ken Duncan a famous Australian photographer who specialises in images of Australia. I bought a book of some of his prints. I think I may even do a photography course when I get back to England as it is something I am getting more interested in as I travel around this great country. I wish I had a good camera now, to enable me to capture the beauty of some of the places I have seen.
But I am trying my best with my little camera to capture some of the places.
The Rocks area of Sydney is very querky, with cobbled streets and old buildings, which house a variety of really nice shops and cafes.
I also got a birds eye view of people climbing the bridge.Iit made me wonder if I would be able to climb it with Sammie when she comes, it lookes pretty scary. We will see!
On the other side of the harbour to the Sydney opera house is the Botanical gardens. They are so beautiful and the views from Mrs Macquaries chair (not sure why it is called that)are breathtaking.
I went for a long walk there one day and just sat looking out over the water towards the Sydney opera house. I reflected on just how lucky I am to be able to take this trip and to experience the things I am doing. I am also meeting so many interesting people of all ages and from all walks of life in the hostels. Which is exactly what I wanted to do when I embarked on this voyage of discovery.
